Under-15 Division 3

20th Sept 2020 at Ballyadam Park

Carrigtwohill United – 3

Passage AFC – 1

Scorers : Paul Browne, Josh Tynan, Rollie Durango

Carrigtwohill United Under-15’s had their first home game of the new league season against Passage on a beautiful Sunday lunchtime. After suffering a heavy defeat in their first game the lads were determined to show that was not their true form

Starting on the front foot and taking control of the game in midfield, Carrigtwohill pushed forward at every opportunity and were rewarded when a cross from Rollie was met by midfielder Paul Browne to finish and give his team a deserved lead.

With their confidence now up, the lads went looking for more goals and Rollie was brought down inside the box for a penalty. Up stepped Phillip whose shot unfortunately was just high of the crossbar.

However, the home side kept the pressure up and they won a free 30 yards from goal when Mark was fouled. Captain on the day Josh Tynan stepped up from centre back to expertly finish into the top corner to make it a 2 goal lead before the water break.

The score stayed the same until half time with Carrigtwohill failing to take advantage of their chances to put the game to bed.

Passage came out all guns blazing on the resumption and got a goal back. Under a bit of pressure now for the first time in the game the Carrigtwohill back 4 stood tall and repelled all attacks.

It was the home side who had the final say when Rollie won the ball himself in midfield before running through on goal and expertly finishing past the on-rushing goalie getting injured in the process.

A good 3 points but Carrigtwohill will know the performance will have to Improve with tougher tests ahead.
