The U14 Girls travelled to Kinsale for their fourth game of the season . It’s was the first meeting for these two teams and the sun was shining for our lunchtime kick off. The views for Kinsales home ground, Madden Park are amazing. We started our game with a 4-4-2 formation, Anna scored our first goal with less than 10 minutes played which was quickly followed by a goal from Alex, then it’s was Kayla’s turn.
We went into half time with a 3-0 lead. For the first half of the game we played into the sun and with the wind. Kinsale came into the second half of the game playing with a defensive line of 5 players and we were now playing against the wind. Kinsale scored two goals during the second half and our next goal came from a play between Niamh Seymour and Gemma bringing the final score to Kinsale 2 v Carrigtwohill 4.
Carrigtwohills Team Sheet: Ellen, Taylor, Caoimhe, Niamh C, Carragh, Majka, Karla, Anna, Gemma, Alex, Kayla, Niamh S, Aine, Olivia, Ellie and Erica.
Our player of the match went to Ellen. She had her work cut out for her in the second half and saved 3 of the Kinsale strikes on goal.
It was a really enjoyable game to watch and the girls played really well together and worked well as a team.
