League v Riverstown in Ballyadam Park on Saturday 23rd September 2017
Carrigtwohill United 5 Riverstown 1
Scores – Conor Ronayne 3, David Rooney 2.
A good 3 points secured at home in a fairly one sided affair.
Carrig had much the better of the first half even it was a very scrappy game. Both sides failed to produce any football of note, But Carrig were stronger in the Final third of the pitch compared to Riverstown defence. Carrig should have had game over at the break with the amount of chances that went unpunished. Carrig were 2-1 up at the break thanks to goals from the impressive David Rooney and inform striker Conor Ronayne.
Second half Carrig completely dominated as there was a big improvement in their passing game, the improved possession and speed of play was rewarded with 3 more goals in the second half from Rooney with his second, and Conor Ronayne who added 2 more for his second consecutive hat trick, his third of the season. A mention of man of the match Cormac Flynn who is developing into one of the most complete and composed midfielders at the club, whose consistent performances have been huge plus for this side.
