League v Greenwood in Coffey’s Field on Sunday 19th October 2014
Greenwood 2 Carrigtwohill United 4
Scorers: Cormac Horgan 3 (2 pens), Conor Harte.

On Sunday, we travelled to Togher to play Greenwood in a top of the table clash. For the first 30 minutes, both teams were feeling each other out with Greenwood creating the better chances. However, Carrig opened the scoring from the penalty spot, following good work by Conor Harte to play in Cormac Horgan who was brought down by the keeper. Horgan  calmly converted. Carrig dominated the next ten mins and got their rewards with two goals in two mins. First from Harte who was played in by the excellent Conor Keegan before cooly finishing past the on -rushing keeper. Carrig made it 3 when Harte had a good effort saved well but Horgan turned in the rebound.

Carrig continued to dominate the game in the second half for the next half hour but were caught on the break by Greenwood to make it 3-1. Within minutes, they had their second of the game when they were awarded a penalty. This made for a nervous ending but Carrigtwohill had other ideas and ultimately wrapped up the points when they were awarded a second penalty after Conor O Mahony went on a mazy run down the left before being brought down in the box. Horgan stepped up and duly converted for his third of the game and maintaining Carrig’s 100% start to the season.
