Carrigtwohill United Under-16’s travelled to Douglas Hall for this away fixture of the season.
Carrigtwohill suffered a tough away defeat to a well organised Douglas Hall who were full value for the win. Douglas Hall took the lead against the run of play after a sustained period of pressure from Carrigtwohill who had 4 corners in a row.
Douglas Hall doubled their lead from the penalty spot when the referee adjudged a Carrigtwohill defender of handball in the box.
Carrigtwohill tried to get back into the game, Sean Og Madden had a long-range effort well saved by the Douglas Hall keeper and Rian Thornhill with a header just rising above the crossbar. Rian Thornhill was working hard on the wing getting a few crosses into the box unfortunately none where converted.
The next goal would be crucial and it was Douglas Hall who scored it, effectively killing off the game as a contest. Douglas Hall added another two goals of the game, both taken well.
Roan O’Keefe grabbed a consolation goal for Carrigtwohill from a through ball from Kyle Kidney.
Carrigtwohill will regroup and get back to training ground this week.
