The Under-14’s made the long bus trip to Macroom on Wenesday night for their first league game of the new season. Because of the heavy evening traffic, they didn’t arrive until 5 minutes before kick-off. Also, having to change on the side of the road didn’t help preparations.
Unfortunately, all the disruptions led to a very disjointed display from the Carrigtwohill lads and they went one down after 15 minutes. Sloppy defending led to a second goal conceded just before half time to leave us two nil down at the break.
The second half got worse and they conceded another 4 goals on a night when most of their players failed to turn up with only goalie Fillip and midfielder Josh holding their own on a tough night.
After a very good pre-season this was a hard result to take but these lads will come back stronger for the experience.
