Under-13G CWSSL Div 3 at Ballyadam

Carrigtwohill United – 5

Springfield B – 0

Springfield Ramblers were the visitors to an immaculately maintained Ballyadam on Tuesday evening with the home side lying second in the table by virtue of Lakewood having two more games played.

Carrigtwohill started this game with real purpose and intent. In goal was Emily, the settled back four of Megan, Sarah, Caitlín and Alex. Midfield was Sophia, Maedhbh, Anna and Kinga. Up front was Amelia and Karla.

Springfield were under incessant pressure from the off and Kinga opened the scoring after six minutes with an expertly taken goal. This was Kinga’s first goal for her team, the first of many surely. Next up was Captain fantastic herself, the irreplaceable Anna Madden with a superbly taken opportunistic strike. Sophia scored a cracker of a goal on sixteen minutes when she unleashed an unstoppable shop  into the bottom left corner. Next up was Amelia with another great strike  and just two minutes before half time Sophia got her second on the night.

On came Niamh Seymour, Rebecca Doyle & Aimee  for their first competitive games, Aoife, Majka and Jemma. They all added to the team when introduced. Jemma got really involved and was very unlucky that she didn’t get the goal her play deserved.

Unfortunately Andrew Long hasn’t managed to install goal-line technology yet but Amelia had a thunderous shot that came down off the crossbar but was ruled not to have crossed the line. One short of twenty goals for this young lady I hear………………. The pressure is on. Surely it will come.

Lilly eased herself back from injury in the last fifteen minutes and was really looking sharp and lively.

It finished  five nil to the home side.

They are getting better and better with each game. They have gone 8 league games unbeaten without conceding a goal.  Polish up the trophy cabinet!!!!

Thanks to all the parents that came out to support and for their commitment to their children and also to CUFC.

Also a word of thanks to Aidan, Andrew and Declan for keeping Ballyadam in top shape.

Player of the game could have gone to any of Anna, Maedhbh, Sophia or the excellent Kinga but Miss Consistency herself Megan Walker was a very popular choice.
