Lakewood Athletic hosted Carrigtwohill in the u12 FAI National Cup this Saturday.

A fairly even start to the game with both midfields trying to break through the opposition without any luck. Lakewood finally broke the deadlock with a slick goal, followed by another soon after with a bit of good fortune.
The carrig girls pushed hard to claw back the deficit and were rewarded with a great strike from outside the box by Abbi Rall.
Just before half time Lakewood scored again after a counter attack from a carrig free kick.

2nd half was end to end with both keepers tested Hanna Bernard in goal was under massive pressure and put in a huge performance with multiple excellent saves throughout.
As well as this Emma Cashman and Ava Baron-Marks were exceptional in defence on the day.
Carrigtwohill pushed and pushed and were rewarded when Olivia O’Sullivan battles hard to force another goal but we were down again not long after from a long range strike.
The girls kept going to the end but the difference in divisions showed through in the end. A special mention to Lola Murray and team captain for the day Isabelle Kingston (player of the match ) who both put in stellar performance on the day.
A very entertaining game with lots of positives to take. Well done and unlucky to the girls
