Under-12A CSL Div 7 at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill United – 3
Mallow United – 3
Carrigtwohill United Under-12A concluded their first competitive season this weekend. On Friday evening they were narrowly beaten to exit the Founders Cup and on Sunday morning a 3-3 draw at home to Mallow United should be enough to secure their division 7 status (although some teams around them have outstanding games to play).
For the game itself the home side got off to a flying start, the electric JP with a run and finish from the left wing inside the 1st minute. The second goal came on 10 minutes following some neat build up play from Nathan and JP to release Josh who finished with aplomb.
Mallow introduced a substitute shortly afterwards and he had an immediate impact being involved in 2 goals in quick succession, 2-2 at halftime.
The visitors scored again shortly after the break to take the lead and Carrigtwohill had to dig deep to get back in the game. Josh drew United level on 40 minutes, again JP with the assist. The remainder of the game was action packed with Carrigtwohill having the better of the chances to find a winner but they found the Mallow keeper in inspired form and couldn’t get past him. It would finish 3-3, best for the home side were Josh, Roger and Zach but man of the match goes to JP Guerin who was a constant threat and provided a goal and two assists. A huge effort by all the gang and a big thank you to players, parents and coaches alike on a very enjoyable first season, well done all.
Player of the Match: JP Guerin
