League v Kinsale in Madden Park on Sunday 20th September 2015
Kinsale 7 Carrigtwohill United 1
Scorer – Liam Moore.
Second game of the season was a poor performance. Not many of the lads played well on on a windy and wet morning we were over powered by the home side.
Right from the start Kinsale were a threat and everything fell for them. Before long they had scored 4 goals without much of a reply from Carrig. While our midfield was strong, with Eric O’Sullivan having another good day, we just couldn’t cope with the home team’s runs. We try to change the team around to cope but Kinsale won all the breaks.
After the break we had good response and got a goal back. Good work by Mark O’Connor down the right forced the keeper to save, but the ball slide out from under him. There waiting to poke it home from close range was Liam Moore to record his first goal for the club. That turned out to be the only highlight as Kinsale dominated the rest of the game. In a match were our midfield and center defence was strong and our goalkeeper Dennis Ogenete played well it’s hard to imagine we conceded 7.
Match day squad – Dennis Ogenete, Pairas Fitzpatrick, Liam Moore, Darragh Ymedji, Mark O’Connor, Eric O’Sullivan, Adam Rooney, George McCarthy, Mikolay Kolodziejczyk, Ronan Browne, Cody Cunningham, Mark Durango.
Ballyseedy Home & Gardens Player of the Match : Eric O’Sullivan.
