The home match against Douglas Hall had yielded a tense 1 all draw, with both teams having loads of chances to win. The return leg proved a very similar affair with the wind being a big factor. In the first half, Douglas Hall went 2 up through a bit of slack defending from Carrig, under constant pressure from the wind which seemed to roll the ball back to their end.
In the second half, the roles were reversed and Carrig pushed in search of goals and Eric O’Sullivan duly won his one on one with the Douglas Hall keeper to bring Carrig back one. However, there would be no more goals and the score stayed at 2-1 for the hosts. A tired mid-week performance from the team at the end of a very long season.
