League v City Wanderers in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 8th March 2015
Carrigtwohill United 2 City Wanderers 1
Scorers
– Paul Feehan, Colin O’Leary.
Carrigtwohill won another valuable 3 points against City Wanderers on Sunday to regain top spot in the league. Both teams played some good passing football and Carrig began to create some chances with Carrig getting a lot of joy out wide. Both Ken Murphy and Jason Walsh were getting in behind the full backs fairly often and producing some good crosses causing the Wanderers defense a lot of problems. The breakthrough came on 30mins when Lenny Hurly played a lovely through-ball to Paul Feehan, who finished well past the keeper. Both sides continued to create chances but it remained 1-0 at half time.

City Wanderers started the 2nd half better than Carrig and got their reward on 60 mins. The Wanderers right full hit a long ball into the Carrig box and a very late call from Mugus caused confusion in the defense and the ball fell to the left winger who finished well. Carrig made a couple of substitutions and it was sub Colin O’Leary who put Carrig ahead again on 80mins when he finished well after being put through by Paul Feehan. Carrig created a few more good chances with Ken Murphy hitting the side netting. City Wanderers were awarded a penalty in the last minute but luckily their centre forward hit it high and over the bar.
