Carrig Utd B got their first points of the season with a comprehensive 4-1 win away to Hillington on Sunday morning. We changed the formation to a traditional 4-4-2 and started the game very brightly with Maciek having some great luck down the left and going close with the keeper making a great save. We broke the deadlock midway through the first half with Igor playing a lovely weighted ball over the top to Dean Salami who finished into the right hand corner. Carrig continued to create chances but let the foot off the gas in the last 15 mins and Hillington could of quite easily equalised through a series of corners. 1 nil to Carrig at half time.

Carrig started the second half brightly and again looked very dangerous on the break and increased the league to 2 nil when Jamie McCarthy scored the goal of the game. He picked the ball up on the right hand side and hit a thunderbolt which hit the underside of the crossbar and down over the line.  Carrig were causing Hillington all sorts of problems going forward and it was 3 nil soon after with Maciek finally get a well deserved goal, Darragh Murphy playing the ball through to Maciek on the left hand side and he finished into the opposite corner. Carrig went to sleep for ten minutes soon after getting the third and Hillington got one back, mix up at the back and conceded a very sloppy goal to make it 3-1. Carrig soon after increased the score to 4-1 when Darragh Murphy again turned provider for Stephen O’Flynn who scored with a bullet finish into the top of the net, Murphy and O’Flynn had chances to make it goals 5 and 6 soon after but both chances were saved and its finished 4-1 to the away side.
