Under-12G Friendly at Ballyadam

Carrigtwohill United

V Corkbeg

On a bitterly cold spring day, Carrigtwohill welcomed Corkbeg to a bustling Ballyadam. The Carrig girls didn’t let the cold interfere with their winning ways and commanded the game from the beginning under the expert leadership of our Captain Brooke.

Corkbeg battled valiantly and scored a good goal but couldn’t counter the determination of our girls.

They scored 7 great goals, with Laura Waters opening the scoring with the first of her three goals. Claire Crowley performed exceptionally well in goals in both our games over the weekend and also got on the scoresheet in the second half.

Other great goals came from Carragh who always gives her all and Karla who deserved to hit the back of the net after a number of chances over the weekend. Niamh Seymour had a goal only to be ruled out for offside but I’m sure she will have more chances in future. Sunday was a match debut for newcomer Rebecca. Midfield was controlled and led skilfully by Caitlyn Egan. Both sides are fledgling teams and these encounters will help the girls grow stronger and develop into the players we know they can become.

Special thanks to Pearse for reffing the game even though he had already spent 12 hours on Carrigtwohill soccer over the weekend
