Under-13 Leage at Ballyadam

Carrigtwohill United – 1

Kinsale – 5

Carrigtwohill United Under-13’s suffered a home defeat to Kinsale on Saturday morning in what was a fantastic game of football.

The home side started the brighter and were the better team in the opening 10 minutes, their best play coming down the right wing as Kyle Kidney looked sharp. But it was the visitors who opened the scoring on 12 minutes following a corner that was not dealt with.

Carrigtwohill continued to ask the questions but could not find a way past the Kinsale keeper who made a number of good saves. Then a long kick out was helped on in midfield to find their striker who finished beautifully from the angle of the box. A lofted effort from outside the area gave Adam Lee no chance and Kinsale somehow led 3-0 at halftime.

Down but not out Carrigtwohill battled away in the second half but would concede again before Evan O’Regan O’Connor replied after working a short corner with Noah Eddins. A penalty with 10 minutes remaining would see Kinsale run out 5-1 winners in a super game that was tighter than the scoreline suggested.

Sean Og Madden takes man of the match for a commanding display in defence. Well done to all. A great effort
