Carrigtwohill were well up for this match with the team starting very strong. Bandon opted to play with the wind in the first half. Carrig pinned Bandon back into their own half for much of the first half, with Adam Rooney and Piaras Fitzpatrick controlling the kick outs.Eric O’Sullivan kept running his wing and crossing balls into the box, before Adam Rooney took a good strike to take the lead. Liam Moore took a quick throw into Piaras Fitzpatrick who crossed the ball into the box for Eric to score again to see us go in 2-0 up at half time.
With the wind the lads kept pushing with great running on the right from Cody Cunningham and Adam Rooney to win a corner. Adam crossed the ball for Eric O’Sullivan to score from a header. At this stage it was all Carrig, goals from Adam Rooney and Piaras Fitzpatrick quickly followed through great passing out wide.
Adam Rooney got fouled in the box and stepped up to get his hat trick from the penalty spot. There was still time for the ever improving Adam O’Neill to set up Will Kavanagh to score his first for the club. The lads at the back were eager to keep a clean sheet and were very disciplined in their defending. Their were plenty of man of the Match performers but with great effort and running Cody Cunningham took it. It was his best performance this season- well done Cody.
