The 3rd game of the Mossie v village was a big test against the team that went unbeaten in our league last season. We came through with flying colours winning 4-3 and well deserved the win.
The game started 100 miles per hour riddled with free kicks and the ref didn’t get control of the game and let a lot of things go. We took the lead on 5 min Derek Delea heading home from a corner which was not cleared . village drew level 5 min later with a goal which was at least 2 yards off side which the ref got wrong. The game still was end to end with us playing some great ball bit final ball was leaving us down. Village took the lead after we failed to defend a set piece. Again Derek Delea scored on the 25 min another header , we were not finished there with Derek completing his hat trick on the 35 min after a great move down the left. Village were not finished and made it 3 all with 2 min left in the half .
Second have calmed down with tempo dropping after such a high tempo first half . Not to many chances until Martin Carroll came on and made huge difference and it was Carlos who struck the winner on 80 min. Game finished on a sour note with Derek Delea coming off injured late on.
Next up is Springers away and 1 point will assure us of winning the group.
