Report:
On a rainy Sat morning we hosted Grenagh United in our first home game of the season. Although wet, Ballyadam was in great condition for what would turn out to be a fast paced game with plenty of action. With four training sessions under our belt since our last outing we all felt ready to kick start our season.
Carrigtwohill started brightly, putting the Grenagh defence under pressure and on 4 mins Alex Sheehan slotted home from the edge of the box after some good work by Calvin Fitzgerald . Carrigtwohills defence stood firm, cutting out any threat offered by Grenagh  and following a Mark Durango clearance Liam Scriven played in Niall Harte who rifled in a shot from the right hand side on 11 mins. Carrigtwohill were now dominant in midfield and creating plenty of chances but couldn’t add to their lead, 2-0 at half-time.
Carrigtwohill were slow to start the second half and Grenagh pulled a goal back 2 mins after the restart. This was the wake up call we needed and the lads settled back into the game. Harte grabbed his second on 46 mins after Scriven played him in and it was Scriven again with the assist as Calvin Fitz coolly finished on 48 mins. With Carrigtwohill well on top now we gave all our subs a run out. On 58 mins after a nice passage of play Adam Rooney lifted the ball over the Grenagh  keeper to put Carrig 5-1 up and Harte claimed the match ball with his hat-trick on 70 mins.
A superb performance by all involved , well done lads.
