Carrigtwohill United 4 Riverstown 1
Scorers –

Carrig U18’s claimed all 3 points in a one sided game in Ballyadam on Wednesday evening. This was a well deserved win for Carrig against a Riverstown team that took 4 points from our two meetings last year. Carrig looked very impressive on the night and were a goal up after 10 minutes. A shot from Stephen Folasade was saved by the visitor’s keeper but Philip Dorgan followed up to make it 1 – 0 to Carrig. Folasade turned provider again 5 minutes later when he controlled a ball 30 yards out and passed to Billy Manning who scored a great goal from the edge of the box 2 – 0. Carrig threatened to run away with the game but failed to add to their score before the break.

Riverstown were back in the game 5 minutes into the second half scoring a good goal against the run of play. Carrig continued to control the game their passing was excellent and a feature of the second half was the cross-field passes from Folasade. With 30 minutes remaining Dorgan scored his second from a corner. Carrig were 3 – 1 up but kept the pressure on Riverstown and would have scored another 5 but the visitors keeper was having an excellent game. The game was wrapped up 10 minutes from time when Dorgan broke through the middle of the field and scored his 3rd goal to make it 4 – 1 to Carrig.

Player of the Match – Stephen Folasade.
