League v Watergrasshill United in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 18th October 2015
Carrigtwohill United 2 Watergrasshill United 1
Scorers –
Philip Dorgan, Billy Manning

Watergrasshill were our opposition on Sunday afternoon at Ballyadam. We got off to a fantastic start and dominated the early exchanges with Grimes, Manning and Twomey  all close to scoring. The visitors were struggling to keep up with us and had their keeper to thank for keeping them in the game. The lads stuck to their task and some clever football was rewarded after 30 minutes . Gary O’Brien charged down the wing and passed to Philip Dorgan who spun on the edge of the box and curled the ball into corner of the net for our first goal. Then 5 minutes later against the run of play Watergrasshill scored with their first attack of the game after a long ball through the middle was hammered to the net to level the score at 1-1. This was only a temporary set back and we were back in front after John Hyde was assaulted in the penalty area and Billy Manning scored from the spot to put us 2-1 up at half time.

Again we started well in the second half and should have had a couple of goals but Watergrasshill packed their defence in an effort to keep us out. We pushed on in search of a third goal but we couldn’t find a way through . After controlling the game for 80 minutes we had to defend our lines up to the final whistle as Watergrasshill threw everything at us in search of an equaliser. This was a great team performance and a comfortable win despite the 2-1 score.
