League v Richmond in Killeady on Sunday 20th September 2015
Richmond 1 Carrigtwohill United 3
Scores – Philip Dorgan, Brendan Twomey, Liam Gosnell.

Carrig U17s were on the road again on Sunday afternoon when they travelled to Killeady to play Richmond. Even though the conditions were poor both teams played their part in an eventful first half. Despite playing against a very strong wind  Carrig created the best of the chances and were rewarded with a penalty 15 minutes into the game but Richmond’s keeper made a great save to keep the score 0 – 0. Then Billy Manning hit the post with a diving header and he was involved in Carrig’s first goal 5 minutes later. Manning passed to Evan Foley and he cut the ball back across the square for Philip Dorgan to chest it down and hammer the ball to the net from the edge of the box to make it 1 – 0 in Carrig’s favour at half time.

In recent weeks Carrig have made a habit of starting well after the break and they caught the home team napping when Ben O’Leary put a long ball into the box for Brendan Twomey to run onto and score Carrig’s second goal. The rest of the half was one way traffic but Richmond defended well and frustrated Carrig by crowding the midfield area. With 10 minutes remaining Carrig got a fright when Richmond scored from a penalty to make it 2 – 1 against the run of play but Carrig regrouped quickly and Liam Gosnell scored their third goal to give the visitors a deserved 3 – 1 victory.
