Carrig secured all 3pts with a very comfortable victory against a 10 man Richmond. The visitors could only field 10 players and Carrig made it worse for them as Rooney scored after only 3mins, Carrig dominated the territory but were not playing effectively and failed to use the ball well enough to exploit their dominance. Rooney got his 2nd after 30mins but against run of play Richmond pulled a goal back after slack defending after a corner. 2-1 at the break.
A few positional changes and substitutions made a big difference as Carrig turned up the pressure right from kick off, and within minutes were 4-1 up after quick goals from James Mulcahy and Ben Malito. The football was much more thoughtful and effective. Zack Casagranda marked his return from injury with a stunning strike from 25yards. Man of the match James Mulcahy finished the scoring with his second before the ref blew up game early.
A job well done today.
