Carrig U17’s had another good day in Ballyadam on Sunday afternoon. Glounthaune were the visitors and they struggled against a strong Carrig side . Carrig were on top from the kickoff but could not get the goals their performance deserved. It was the 30th minute before  they got their first goal when Dylan McCann put Liam Gosnell clear on the wing and he scored a great goal from the edge of the box. From the kickoff John Hyde won possession passed to Gosnell and again he gave the keeper no chance with a well placed shot to the corner of the net. Carrig added another 3 before the break, the first of them was headed to the net by David Grimes when he got on the end of a great cross from Liam Mccarthy. Then Philip Dorgan scored two quick goals the best of them was a volley after Liam Gosnell put a ball over the top for him to run onto. The first half finished 5-0 to Carrig.

Carrig showed no mercy in the second half and won a corner from the kickoff which was headed to the net by Darragh McCann to make it 6-0. Carrigs movement of the ball in the second half was excellent and they dominated the play in every position. Philip Dorgan got his hatrick from a great cross by Billy Manning to make it 7-0 and number 8 was headed in at the back post by Brendan Twomey 5 minutes later. Carrig made 3 changes bringing on Jamie Daly , Evan Foley and Jake Holmes and after only 2 minutes Foley had the ball in the net after a quick free kick by Gosnell. Foley made it 10 – 0 with his second goal 5 minutes later . Glounthaune got a consolation goal with a good header at the back post to make it 10-1 . Then Liam Gosnell capped a great performance with his hatrick as the ref blew for full time 11-1 to Carrig.
