Carrigtwohill United – 5
Corkbeg A – 2

Our latest game was a league fixture v Corkbeg A in Ballyadam.
The boys started the game on the front foot , linking up really well with some lovely football. We created a number of good chances to take the lead but just couldn’t add the finishing touch with Adam and Charlie both going close. We were hit on the break on 20mins after a lovely through ball and finish put Corkbeg 1 up against the run of play. In fairness this didn’t effect the boys too much and they just kept on playing, creating numerous chances with Corkbegs keeper making some super saves. Eventually the pressure paid off when Franek’s effort crashed in off the post. 1-1 at half time.
The second half played out in a similar fashion, creating a number of chances only to fall behind from a quick breakaway. The lads responded brilliantly, level within two mins from Martin Lehane’s cooly taken penalty and ahead 5mins later when Divine scored heading in a corner. Gaining confidence from taking the lead we went two ahead after great control and a clever assist from Lewis to set up Adam. There was just enough time for Charlie to control a cross and rifle in great finish to cap a superb performance from him today.
A great team performance from everyone today, all 14 players contributed. Five different players on the scoresheet and a solid display.
Player of the game goes to Charlie Cambridge, a constant threat going forward, worked hard in defence and scored a goal he deserved. Well done lads.
