League v St. Mary’s in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 7th December 2014
Carrigtwohill United 4 St. Mary’s 0
Scorers: Philip Dorgan 2, Brendan Twomey 2.

A great performance from Carrigtwohill saw them run out 4- 0 winners in their league clash with St.Mary’s in Ballyadam on Sunday morning. Carrig got off to a great start and had the visitors under pressure from the start. Brendan Towmey was first to test the keeper with a great shot from the edge of the box and this was a sign of their intent. 5 minutes later Carrig scored their first goal, a great move was started by Darragh McCann he put Billy Manning clear down the wing and his pinpoint cross was turned in at the back post by Philip Dorgan. Carrig were on top for most off the first half and looked like they had scored a second goal but St. Mary’s keeper made a great save to stop Towmey’s header after twenty minutes. Then the conditions changed and with the help of a strong wind St. Mary’s got back into the game but Ben O Leary in the home goal was in fine form and comfortably kept them out . A solid display from Coady and McCann at the back insured Carrig got to the break 1 up.

Carrig kicked off the second half with a strong wind behind them and spent the next 15 minutes camped in the visitors half but St. Mary’s keeper was having a great game and kept them out with one great save after another. But he could do nothing about Carrigs second goal. Darragh McCann’s free from deep in his own half was headed to the net by Twomey. 5 minutes later Carrig were 3 up when Dorgan split the visitors defence with a great pass for Twomey to race onto to score his second goal. Then he turned provider when he won the ball from the kick off and passed to Dorgan to score his second goal and Carrigs fourth. With the game won Carrig eased off and St. Mary’s went in search of a consolation goal but a great save from O’Leary in the home goal insured his clean sheet on the day . Man of the match John Hyde had a great game in the middle of the field . Another good win puts Carrig in contention with 4 wins from 4.
