Lismore Under-16’s were the visitors to Ballyadam this weekend for this National Cup Last 64 Cork Area fixture.
Carrigtwohill were straight out of the blocks putting Lismore under pressure and took the lead after 2 minutes of play, with Rayhan Soumaila grabbing the opening goal.
Carrigtwohill doubled their lead on the 12th minute with Rayhan Soumaila grabbing his second goal with a well taken header off a cross from Roan O’Keefe.
Carrigtwohill scored their third goal on the 59th minute. Noah Nsengiyumva finishing the ball into the net with a one touch finish off a corner from Roan O’Keeffe.
One minute later Carrigtwohill scored their fourth goal with a well taken shot from Roan O’Keeffe.
Carrigtwohill could be forgiven for being a bit complacent with a 4 goal cushion and Lismore struck back with a wonder goal on the 61st minute.
On the 63rd minute Sean Og madden was fouled. Seeing as he was fouled the Carrigtwohill Captain decided to try his luck and placed the ball into the back of the net giving the Lismore keeper no chance for Carrigtwohill’s fifth goal.
Cillian Rooney scored Carrigtwohill sixth and final goal of the day with a neat finish as he was quickest to react from the rebound off his first shot on the 66th minute.
Lismore not content with scoring one wonder goal, they scored a second wonder goal on the 74thst minute.
Job done, Carrigtwohill’s passage into the next round secured with all 18 players got good game time.
Best on the day were Roan O’Keeffe, Noah Nsengiyumva and Tom Walsh but player of the match goes to Rayhan Soumaila with his two goals.
