Carrigtwohill started the game very strongly and were rewarded within 10 mins as David Rooney was taken down inside the box after some good work on the right betwenn Ethan and Zack. Rooney stepped and put Carrig one up. We kept up the pressure and were rewarded again after some good work in the centre of midfield. Zack scored a great goal from the edge of the box after 18mins. Carrig’s defence were marshalling Douglas’s attackers well and Daragh Desmond did not have much to do. After 25mins we were 3 up after good passing between Jack and Cormac led to Zack being brought down in the box. Again Rooney stepped up and slotted home!
The second half started with Douglas coming out of the blocks as expected and got a deflected goal within 10mins. Carrig steadied the ship after this and saw the game out comfortably to progress to the next round!
