A comfortable win for Carrigtwohill in the cup with plenty on different scores on the day. We were 2 up in the first 6 mins with goals from Matti Hodnett and a super strike from Sean Guiney. Garry Og and Jacob added to the score line soon after to put us 4 up.
In fairness to Springfield they were trying hard and were rewarded with a goal on 25mins to make it 4-1.
The goal of the game came on 27 mins when a sublime bit of skill from Pòl on the touch line then took it past 2 players and neatly slotted home.
Another from Garry Og and Jacob before half time made it 7- 1 at the break. Carrigtwohill played some lovely passing football in the 2nd half and Jack Lombard soon made it 8, Pòl Dan Guiney and Sean Guiney all scored and we were 11-1 up. Garry Og then completed his hat trick with 14 to go, still time for Pòl and Jack Lombard to get their 2nd of game. Hugh Crowley also got on the score sheet. We hade to luxury of playing players in different positions today and thet will benefit us going forward.
More challenging assignments ahead in the cup but a brilliant performance by our boys.
Some super performances today but our man of the match goes to Garry Og Horgan for his wonderful hat trick. Well done.
