League v Riverstown in Ballyadam Park on Tuesday 12th April 2016
Carrigtwohill United 2 Riverstown 2
Scorers –
James Mulcahy, Jack Horgan.

Another top of the table clash for Carrig 15’s, this game was fought out between two good sides, with a draw being a fair reflection on the game itself. Carrig who had the better of the first half after an impressive start. Carrig took a 1 goal lead into half time after some great play between David Rooney and James Mulcahy, with James finishing superbly.

The second half was only just started and Riverstown started better but it was Carrig who increased their lead after good work by Rooney to set up Jack Horgan to double the lead. The advantage lasted only 2 minutes after a lack of concentration from a free kick allowed Riverstown to pull one back. Riverstown were on top in the second half and were causing the Carrig defence problems, and Carrig were saved by the excellent Darragh Desmond on two occasions but they got the equaliser soon after. Carrig made positional changes which helped nullify the threat of Riverstown. Both teams fought hard for a winner in a very exciting game and Carrig might have got a winner after a couple of decent chances by John Carroll & Cormac Flynn. But neither team added to the scoreline to leave the game finish level.

Player of the Match – James Mulcahy.
