League v Leeds A in Leeds Park on Saturday 13th December 2014
Leeds A 2 Carrigtwohill United 1
Scorer: Richard Silvos.
Set pieces were to be the defining point of this game as Carrig’s Under 15s took on Leeds A in the League. Carrig were plagued with injuries and sickness and ended up travelling with only 12 players. Nevertheless they were by far the better side in the first half, playing some lovely football and creating the majority of chances. It was a corner from Carrig that broke the deadlock, Richard Silvos getting in at the back post, his usual haunting spot for corners to put the away side ahead.
The second half started with Leeds making a double change and that changed the game, their large squad and ability to bring on fresh legs was the be the deciding factor in this game as they drew level midway through the second and from a free kick. Carrig got back in the game and had there own chances but the game look destined for a draw. That was until the final minute when Leeds popped up again from a set piece to take all three points,A disappointing result but all in all, Carrig still in with a great chance of winning this division.
