League v Crosshaven in Camden on Friday 22nd April 2016
Crosshaven 0 Carrigtwohill United 3
Scorers –
John Carroll 2, David Rooney.

Carrig now have only 1 game left this season, after completing another win against Crosshaven.

Carrig dominated the game in the first half and were in the lead after 2 mins, when John Carroll struck the ball home from a Cormac Flynn corner. Carrig were looking dangerous and threatened a second very quickly as James Mulcahy was causing all sorts of problems for Crosshaven. On 13 mins Carrig doubled their lead when John Carroll again scored, this time from a 30 yard strike. Carrig continued to threaten throughout the half as both the defence and midfield dominated their opponents. The score remained 2 nil at the break.

Crosshaven started the second half better and were launching high balls at Carrigs defence but for all the pressure they failed to really threaten Darragh Desmond in the Carrig goal as again Conor Lee was outstanding in his cover at the back. Carrig were threatening on the break during this half, and James Mulcahy should have added to the lead with the number of chances he was creating but came up against an in form Crosshaven keeper. Carrig finally got the third they threatened on 55 mins when a good break by James, the striker unselfishly squared the ball to Man of the Match David Rooney who finished superbly.

Carrig failed to add to the scoring as they dominated the rest of the game and were taking Crosshaven’s defence apart with virtually every attack. Overall yet again this Carrig showed great determination all over the pitch with every player having an it standing performance. So on wards now to the final league game of the season with a real chance of winning the league.
