League v Bandon in Town Park on Saturday 12th September 2015
Bandon 1 Carrigtwohill United 1
Scorer – Ethan Daly.
Carrig secured a good away point today but it could have been 3 pts after a very good performance. Bandon started the better and took a lead after 15 mins after a mix up with Carrig centre backs left the Bandon striker through and he was fortunate to sneak the ball in at the front post of the keeper. A change of formation with introduction of Jack O’Mahony changed the game to Carrig’s advantage, suddenly we looked dangerous and our midfield started to dominate the game.
Half time remained 1 nil to Bandon but the second half was minutes old when Carrig deservedly brought the game level with a great individual goal by Ethan Daly, Bandon were rocked as Carrig piled on the pressure to get the winner. But it never fell our way as last ditch tackles and good goalkeeping kept the game level. Bandon did threaten in the final 10 minutes of the game as the game became end to end with both sides having shots cleared off the line. But the game finished level for a point a piece.
Very hard to select an individual as man of the match as there was great performances all over the pitch, but Niall Hannigan gets the nod for a super game in marshaling the very solid defence today.
Ballyseedy Home & Gardens Player of the Match : Niall Hannigan.
