League v Bandon in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 21st February 2016
Carrigtwohill United 3 Bandon 1
Scorers –
David Rooney, James Mulcahy, Zack Casagranda.

Carrig beat a decent Bandon team to go top of the league. The game was played with a strong wind which had a major effect on the game itself. Carrig played with the wind first half and were well on top early on. The lead was taken from a corner when Jack Horgan delivered a quality cross 2nd time of asking which was headed home brilliantly by David Rooney. Carrig failed to add to the lead in the half, as Bandon got to grip with the conditions and arguably should have been at least level by the break.

Second half Bandon with the wind had Carrig pegged in their own half, Carrig defended much better in this half and Bandon were leaving gaps at the back which Carrig exploited with a great break by Zack Casagranda and he laid on a simple finish for James Mulcahy to give Carrig a 2 goal lead. The lead lasted only seconds as Bandon took a shot straight from restart which luckily bounced over Darragh in goal. Carrig changed formation which made it more comfortable at the back, and with Bandon committing players forward they were always at risk of a counter attack, Carrig looked dangerous on numerous breaks and got a third through the excellent Zack Casagranda on one such break, where the striker finished superbly to wrap up the points for Carrig.
