We went to Killeady yesterday morning to play Richmond in the league and took away 3 points after a convincing victory. The first half was tight on a muddy pitch which was not easy to play on. The first 20 minutes past without incident before the game exploded into life. Jack Horgan ran on to a through ball from David Rooney and finished past the Richmond goalkeeper to put us one up. From the restart Richmond equalised at the other end. The chances were frequent now and shortly afterwards Richard Silvos put us 2-1 ahead as half time approached. Unfortunately we couldn’t hold the lead and Richmond equalised before the break.
We took control of the 2nd half right from the kick off as the lads got to grips with the sticky pitch. Defensively we restricted Richmond to very few chances and up front we managed to convert the chances which came our way from great attacking play all through the game. Richard Silvos and Jack Horgan both added to their tally and David Rooney scored a brilliant free kick. Daragh Desmond came off the bench and scored a great goal to round off an impressive 2nd half performance and leave the score 2-6 at the final whistle.
