League v Midleton in Ballyadam Park on Saturday 3rd January 2015
Carrigtwohill United 1 Midleton 0
Scorer: David Follarin

This was a great win for the lads away to Midleton A last Saturday morning in Knockgriffin. Carrig had the best of the 1st half but were unable to take advantage by putting the ball in the back of the net. On a heavy pitch it wasn’t easy for both teams and at half time the score was 0-0.

Midleton had the better start to the 2nd half and should have taken the lead early on. Carrig used the bench and introduced subs including David Follarin and Sean DaBurcha from the bench. Both immediately combined well on the break with Richard Silovs. David Follarin finished the move with a lovely goal, shooting from the left wing to the bottom right corner. Carrig could not get that important 2nd goal to kill off the game but the defence held firm. A late free kick gave Midleton the chance to equalise. The shot was well saved by goalkeeper Darren Flynn and they pushed the rebound marginally wide. Carrig held on after that to stay in touch at the top of the table.
