Carrigtwohill United – 4

Douglas Hall A – 2

22nd Sept 2019 at Ballyadam Park

On a lovely sunny morning, after torrential downpours overnight Carrigtwohill United welcomed Douglas Hall A to Ballyadam for their latest league game. Following 2 heavy defeats, they needed a big effort to get their season back on track.

They started the game on the front foot and took the lead after 2 minutes when Phillip latched on to a great through ball and finished well. Carrigtwohill pushed for a second and again it was Phillip who finished to put us two up. A third followed when after some great play starting with Fillip in goals, they played right through the lines when Ryan broke free and showing great composure chipped the oncoming goalie to put the hosts 3 up with 15 minutes on the clock. Unfortunately, they couldn’t add to their lead before half time.

The Carrigtwohill lads started the second half slowly and Douglas got a soft goal after sloppy defensive play. The away team gained confidence from the goal and got a second to bring it back to 3-2 and put the pressure on the home side. The Carrigtwohill lads showed their true character and won back control of the game. They got a deserved 4th when after great work down the lef,t Paul was on hand to head in to make it 4-2 with 5mins left.

A deserved win when a number of players were in line for man of match but the vote goes to Ryan for his overall work rate and great first half finish.
