Carrigtwohill United – 1

Watergrasshill – 0

On a bitterly cold morning in Ballyadam Carrig came out in top in an entertaining local Derby. The home team had a tough run of recent results but with some really good performances. Today they got what they deserved with a win at home and 3 points.

Carrig had a alot of pressure in the first half and could have opened the score with Scott Power and Christopher O’Halloran going close. They had numerous other chances but the Watergrasshill defence was marshalled well. For all the Carrig pressure Watergrasshill had 2 great chances on the break, one which was narrowly wide and another which was stopped last min by Charlie Cronin. 0-0 at half time.

Carrig came out very positive second half and piled on the pressure, Chris again going close with a beautiful shot from outside his foot which just went wide. The breakthrough came towards the end of the match with a stunning solo goal by man of the match Ryan Moore who picked up the ball at the half way line, fainted one way outside the box and took the ball the other before calmly finishing into the corner, a really top class finish. Carrig defended well the last 10 mins and got a very deserved win.
