Carrigtwohill United – 2

Fermoy – 1

What a performance today against top of the table opposition.
An unbelievably physical game resulted in yellow cards for both teams but that’s only a fraction of the story.

We started off brilliantly putting the opposition under fierce pressure with plenty of scrambling defence.

We missed 2 glorious chances by Matty Karona who made a superb individual run passing 4 players and shooting just wide and the 2nd was a great run splitting the defence and his flick went just wide.
Against the run of play a clearance over the top from the opposition defence left our defence flat footed to concede and go 1 down.

We were level 5 minutes later after a great ball from Sam Collins, Filip Klimpka splitting the left hand side of the opposition made a great run and rounded there centre backs and fired a beautiful finish into the corner. HT

Second half started similar to the first with a few over the top challenges from the opposition but our lads would not be intimidated and fought fire with fire.
After another glorious move we peppered the opposition goal but there keeper made 2 great saves.

We went ahead with 15 minutes to go after a great run up from right back from Pranav who gave a lovely ball to Filip who passed his man and laid it off to Sam. Sam hit a great ball switched the play to the opposite side of the box to an incoming run from left side of midfield by Malacy Kelleher who rifled the ball into the opposite corner an unbelievable finish to a great team move.

We had more chances but saw the game out comfortably.

After a slow start to the season hopefully this is the time we kick on.

Outstanding team performance but special mentions to Charlie Cronin, Matty Karona and Man of the match Alex Kadula
