League v St Mary’s A in Killmurry on Saturday 6th December 2014
St Mary’s A 2 Carrigtwohill United 3
Scorers: Calvin Fitzgerald, Kelvin Boampong, Kuba Hoft.

A great result for the lads on Saturday morning away to St Mary’s.  Led by our captain Victor we started very strongly, with Niall causing the opposition problems attacking from Midfield. Ronan, Cian, Niall and Victor gave us a strong platform in Midfield.  Calvin and Kelvin upfront were combining well, and a great move saw Calvin taken down just outside the box.  He dusted himself down and dually dispatched the free kick to the net 1-0.  A short time later Kelvin was put clean through on goals but put the chance wide.  This was only a warning to the opposition, as shortly before half time Kelvin burst through again, this time being taken down for a penalty which he dually sent to the back of the net himself.  2-0 at half time.

St Mary’s came at us in the second half, and our defence was under pressure.  Some great tackling by Eloghsa and John, kept the opposition at bay, and when they got past them David and Nathan did some great covering.  However the pressure was mounting and the opposition scored 2 quick goals to draw level.  Ben was making outstanding saves in goal, and we were hanging on.  Kuba and Liam came off the bench the freshen things up, and Kuba scored our third goal with ten minutes left 3-2.

In fairness St Marys never gave up and pushed us right to the wire, but our lads showed great determination and commitment and fought for every ball to record our first league win. Well done lads.
