National Cup v Skibbereen in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 19th October 2014
Carrigtwohill United 1 Skibbereen 9
Scorer: Kuba Hoft
A game of two halves this one against a very good Skibbereen side. Led by captain for the day John Nolan, our defence was applying good pressure on the opposition, but we were under constant pressure. Ronan was having an outstanding game at the back, well assisted by Jack, Liam and John.

We fell a goal down early in the match, however our midfield was starting to get into the game, with Calvin working really hard. Lorcan and Cian were having to defend a lot, but we scored a great goal when Kuba Hoft made a blistering run into the opposition area and scored a great goal, 1-1. Skibbereen came back at us and we conceded an OG just before half time. Alfred and Niall were trying hard up front, but we struggled to get the ball up their.

The wind was very strong in the second half. Ben Made numerous saves and one in particular was outstanding when he dived full length to deflect a goal bond shot over the bar. Darragh came into midfield and worked hard. Jamie came into our back line a made a few important tackles. Kelvin was trying hard up front but the opposition defence gave nothing away. Niall had a great shot saved by their keeper. With the Wind Skibbereen scored some good goals from distance, their was nothing our keeper could do with them and they ran out convincing winners. Our lads never gave up and tried right to the end.
