League v Carrigaline Hibs in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 27th March 2016
Carrigtwohill United 4 Carrigaline Hibernians 5
Scorers –
Piaras Fitzpatrick, George McCarthy, Eric O’Sullivan, Adam Rooney.

Another great performance but we lost by the odd goal in 9 to visitors Carrigaline Hibernians at a wet and windy Ballyadam park.

We played with the strong wind in the first half, but it was the visitors who struck first. A good shot from the edge of the box put them 1-0 up within the first minute. Carrig responded well and took the lead through goals from Piaras Fitzpatrick and George McCarthy. Carrigaline scored to draw level in a very frantic and even first half but Carrig responded again and took a 4-2 when both Eric O’Sullivan and Adam Rooney scored. Things seemed to be going our way but the visitors fought hard against the weather and drew level again to leave it 4-4 at the break.

In the second half, against the wind, Carrig played very well but couldn’t find that 5th goal. Chances came and went as we tried in vain to score. Then Carrigaline broke down the right and shot for goal. Cameron made a fantastic save to deny the visitors diving to his right but the rebound was struck to the net by the Carrigaline forward to give them the lead with 15mins left. carrig push hard and create more chances but couldn’t get the equaliser.

Great team performance, played good football and scored good goals. Player of the Match today was a close call. Piaras just about gets the award for his overall performance and goal but our keeper Cameron was brilliant again today and George was also excellent.
