Carrigtwohill United 5 Temple United 0
Scorers –
Brendan Twomey,  Philip Dorgan,  Billy Manning,  Darragh McCann,  Shane Waters.

Temple were the opposition on Sunday afternoon and only a win would keep us in contention for promotion. We were all over Temple from the start and were a goal up after 10 minutes. Brendan Twomey controlled a great ball over the top from Darragh McCann and rounded the keeper for an easy tap in. Temple had the better of the next 10 minutes and would have levelled the game but a great save by Liam McCarthy kept them out. After some good defending another clearance from McCann to Twomey set Philip Dorgan up to score Carrig’s second goal to make it 2 – 0 at the break.

The second half was very entertaining with both sides playing some great football. Temple had a few good chances in the second half but Liam McCarthy dealt with everything that they threw at him. Then with 25 minutes remaining Carrig scored two fantastic goals. Billy Manning scored the first beating the keeper with a great shot from 30 yards and 5 minutes later Darragh McCann played a neat one two with David Grimes before hammering the ball to the net again from about 30 yards out. A great performance was rounded off when Shane Waters broke clear on the wing to score Carrigs fifth goal.
