After a frustrating 2 seasons with injury Shane Kennedy’s performance and contribution to the Carrig victory over Coachford was immense. He was not alone however a brace from Garry O’Riordan and a great strike from Conor Harte, gave Carrig all 3 points. At half time however Carrig found themselves 1 down, as they conceded to a good strike from a short corner 10 mins before the break. Having dominated the game but with not a lot of pressure put on the Coachford keeper.

Carrig moved to 4-4-2 to add an extra punch to the attack. Carrig leveled 5 mins in when the ref saw a push in the box off the ball.Giddy dispatched the spot kick. 10 mins later and Carrig firing on all cylinders, after a great move from right back right up through the centre and from a pull back across the box Conor sweet strike gave Carrig a deserved lead.Garry O’Riordan wrapped up proceedings with 15 to go as he rounded the keeper for his second. Coachford piled on the pressure but the young Carrig were not to be undone as Shane Kennedy marshaled a solid back 4 to a well deserved win. Next up Blarney Street at home in AUL game of the week. Paul Feehan was again super in mid field but MOTM has to go to Kennedy.
