Mossie Linnane v Cathedral Celtic in Ballyadam Park on Saturday 15th August 2015
Carrigtwohill United 5 Cathedral Celtic 1
Scores – Mick Kenneally, Nathan Gumbo, Chris Casey, Martin Carroll, Derek Delea.

After a very good pre season in which we won the Barry Wall tournament scoring plenty of goals, that form continued in first competitive game of the season. We also had 5 players making there debut for the club, Adrian O’Donovan (keeper), Kieran Murphy (right full) John Wade (midfield) Nathan Gumbo (midfield) Jordan O’Leary (striker), also missing through work were new signings Gary O’Riordan (“giddy” striker) Damian Daly (striker ) Joe Carroll (defender). The Squad is coming together nicely and will be needed as we play premier football for the first time in club history.

In Saturday’s game we started well and were in total control without being ruthless in final third where our passing and decision making cost us efforts on goal. First game came after 25 min when a corner from Kieran Murphy was powerfully headed into top corner by Mick Kenneally. We kept playing well without having to many clear cut chances, there keeper made one great save from Jordan O’leary after being sent through by Ducky.

At half time made 1 change bringing on Nathan Gumbo and almost immediately he put us 2 nil up with tidy finish. Again we were in total control and only waiting for more goals which they did Chris Casey added the third and then Chris provided 2 assists for Martin and Derek to make it 5-1. Ref blew up the game 10 min early.

Next up is Kockraha a away on Saturday.

Ballyseedy Home & Gardens Player of the Match : Darren Sylvester.
