League v Dunbar Celtic in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 23rd August 2015
Carrigtwohill United 0 Dunbar Celtic 1
We suffered our 1st loss of the season at home to Dunbar on Sunday morning. The first half was one to forget for us as we struggled to come to terms with Dunbar’s tempo and movement. We also struggled to create any chances with the little possession we had but luckily managed to get to half time at 0-0.
After a couple of changes just before half time we began to get a hold of the game and dictate the play. Davy Barry moved into midfield and brought some much needed organisation in there. With himself and Tom O’Shea winning more ball in the middle, Chris Horgan and John Carey began to get some joy down the right hand side. With the introduction of Lenny Hurley to partner Brendan Horgan up front, we finally started creating chances and putting the Dunbar defense under pressure. Lenny and Shane Murphy had a couple of decent chances but couldn’t hit the target. Dunbar got what turned out to be the winning goal in the 75th minute when a cross from their right winger went over the head of the centre halves and their left winger squeezed the ball into the bottom corner. We continued to create half chances until the end but couldn’t get the equaliser.
