DAY 1
The Carrigtwohill Under-13’s Easter trip started early on Friday morning when a group of 19 players and 12 parents left the community centre in Carrigtwohill at 3.00am in the morning for the long road to Dublin.
The excitement among the lads was unreal and with their parents there to say goodbye. There was not too much sleep had on the bus!
In fact there was a brilliant rendition of Oasis Wonderwall by the young lads as the bus arrived at Dublin’s North Wall for the 7.30 fast ferry to Hollyhead in Wales.
The got breakfast on the boat before getting on the bus again to make their way to the University of Bolton stadium for the league championship meeting between Bolton and Aston Villa.
17 of the 19 lads purchased Bolton jerseys before the game but unfortunately try as they might Bolton could not get the win which would have preserved their place in the championship and Aston Villa ran out comfortable 2 nil winners.
The lads had a great day out before returning to their hotel for dinner and refreshments before retiring to bed to end a very long enjoyable day one of trip.
With another two days of action packed activity to look forward to they will enjoyed the night’s sleep.
