Local Cup v Watergrasshill United in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 20th April 2014
Carrigtwohill United 3 Watergrasshill United 0
Scorers – Shane O’Hanlon, David Ryan, Rutendo Katsamudanga.
Carrigtwohill United’s strong team performance saw them jump to second in the league with a comfortable 3-0 win in a sunny Ballyadam over local rivals Watergrasshill. An uneventful first half where it seemed that ball did not leave the centre circle, was follow in the second with Carrigtwohill United taking control. Shane O’Hanlon’s fine strike 5 mins after the restart found the roof of the net. David Ryan’s strong shot was dispatched clinically to make it 2, 10 mins later. A similar run from Rutendo had the same affect and Carrigtwohill United closed out the game with ease.
Man of the Match – Kudsai Mhondiwa.
Local Cup v Corinthian Boys A in Castletreasure on Sunday 6th April 2014
Corinthian Boys A 1 Carrigtwohill United 2
Scorer – Hugh O’Neill 2.
An under strength Carrigtwohill United pulled out a great performance to progress in the local cup. The lads were good value for their victory with the back 4 solid as a rock again. Against a strong wind in the first half Carrigtwohill united did not score despite their dominance. The second half started as the first with Carrig in control, but a sloppy pass was capitalised on by the host and dispatched to the back of Carrigtwohill United net. This seem to annoy the visitors and they up’ed the tempo Hugh O’Neill moving from right full to a 5 man mid-field and he cracked home a fabulous volley to equaliser. Carrigtwohill’s hunger for this was evident from the start and after what must have been their 16 corner Hugh O’Neill met the last minute corner heading low and hard to the host net.
Man of the Match – Hugh O’Neill.
League v Park United in Brigown Park on Saturday 22nd March 2014
Carrigtwohill United 1 Park United 2
Scorer – David Rooney.
Carrigtwohill U14 unbelieveably came away with nothing from their performance of the season. Owning the ball for the first half and for long periods of the second.Twice the crossbar helped Park as their only 2 shots on target fell favourably for them and both ended in the back of the Carrig net. The Park manager summed it up after the game entering the Carrig dressing to speak to the dejected Carrig team “the best team he saw in Park in a long time undeservedly lost a fabulous sporting contest”. David Rooney converted a pen with 5 mins on the clock. A super performance from the lads but alas no point’s from Park in 2 meetings.
Man of the Match – Rutendo Katsamudanga.
Local Cup v Ballinhassig in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 9th March 2014
Carrigtwohill United 4 Ballinhassig 0
Scorers – David Ryan, Shane O’Hanlon, Rutendo Katsumado, David Rooney.
Carrigtwohill were slow to get started understandably follow a long lay off. When they did kick off the we’re far too strong for this Ballinhassig side. Kudsai Mhondiwa was a mere bystander in the first half. Carrigtwohill will have to be better to win this cup but like everybody else they will be after games. Highlight of the game was a super goal by man of the match David Rooney directly from a corner.
Man of the Match – David Rooney.
League v Buttevant in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 1st December 2013
Carrigtwohill United 3 Buttevant 0
Scorers – Rutendo Katsumangago 2, Tommy Butler.
Carrigtwohill were deserved victor’s in this tough test. Getting 3 points was very important today to keep the pressure on Park. Rutendo Katsumandago was outstanding up front leading the line and 2 goals from him today was just reward for his effort. Shane Waters was also in super form at the centre of defence. Sub Tommy Butler finished well to make it 3 to Carrig.
Man of the Match – Rutendo Katsumandago
League v Kinsale in Madden Park on Sunday 10th November 2013
Kinsale 2 Carrigtwohill United 3

2 down away from home to unbeaten title contenders Kinsale, Carrigtwohillunited showed great resolve coupled with some super football to take all 3 points in a soaked Madden Park.

Leonard Gould Cup v Ballinhassig in Ballyadam Park on Sunday 29th September 2013
Carrigtwohill United 7 Ballinhassig 1
Scorers – Rutendo Katsumundo 2, Tommy Butler 2, Shane O’Hanlon, Jack Scully, OG.
Carrigtwohill completely dominated this one sided cup tie. With some good football throughout the game. In truth Carrig were never under pressure at the back until the closing stage of the game. Despite some good goals and great football in midfield the man of the match award goes to Shane Waters. His teammates across the back put in sterling performances also.
Man of the Match – Shane Waters
League v Passage in Rockenham Park on Sunday 15th September 2013
Passage 5 Carrigtwohill United 2
The result here does not tell a true story of a game Carrigtwohill united could easily have won. 1 down to a soft pen inside 10 mins that Carrigtwohill bossed did not stop Carrig creating the best chances and a super overhead kick for Shane O Hanlon levelled matters. Passage got 2 more before the half but their keeper was in sublime form to keep Carrig to 1 at the break.
Carrig had to make 2 changes at half time and continued to compete very well all over the pitch. Passage hit the net again as Carrig were caught in possession and the breaking ball fell to a Passage player who slotted the ball into the empty net. David Ryan was a force all day in the mid field and was rewarded with a super strike from a free kick on the edge of the box. Chasing the game Carrig left gaps at the back and were punished again for some sloppy play. Passage were clinical in front of goal where Carrig were not.
Man of the Match – David Ryan
