Carrigtwohill marched into the last 16 with a comfortable win over Carrigaline A on Sat Morning. We started the game well and had a few half chances early on. On 20 mins we took the lead when the ball broke to Matti Hodnett and from 25 yards out he curled a lovely strike into top corner. It wasn’t long until we added a 2nd when a well worked short corner between Conor Nolan and Sean Barry who’s ball found Cathal Doyle in the box and he calmly found the net. 2 up at the break.
2nd half was similar to the first with plenty of shots on goal, Conor, Cillian, Sean Guiney all had shots well saved by their keeper. Final score 2-0 and a well deserved win. We are now into the last 16 of the cup and hopefully we can go deep into the competition. Everyone played well on Saturday, Jack Lombard and Liam Prendergast were solid in the middle, big shouts today for Sean Barry, Cillian McCann,Conor Nolan and Garry Og who worked hard up top, but our MOTM goes to Cathal Doyle who ran at the defence all day and grabbed a goal.
