Carrigtwohill United – 3
Strand United – 3

Strand United were the visitors to ballyadam Sunday morning. Whilst it was great to get back playing on grass for the first time since early December we struggled to adapt to the conditions. To be fair to Strand they brought a very physical but fair game throughout and it wasn’t until the last 15 minutes that we really got going. We took the lead after 10 minutes through the ever lively Ryan Matthew and seemed quite comfortable but Strand raised their level and started bossing the game with their physicality and deservedly went in at half time 2-1 up. In what has been a great season so far we could tell our lads were a little bit shell shocked during the halftime break. It didn’t help 15 mins into the 2nd half going 3-1 down with a similar pattern to the first playing out. Reverting back to a back 3 and getting an extra midfielder back into midfield rewarded us almost immediately when Zach Flynn played a beautiful through ball through to Eoin Lombard who showed great composure in a one on one to finish with aplomb. Finally the lads started truly believing and battled for their lives forcing an equaliser with nearly the last kick of the game through Kevin Isaac. The improvement in each and everyone of the squad is a joy to watch and the coaches couldn’t be any prouder. What they will have learned from this match going forward about their heart and belief will be invaluable. Well done lads
