In truth this was a match where the home side were always playing catch up. Bandon kicked off with a set plan in mind which was to play direct ball in behind the Carrigtwohill back line and it worked a treat for them.

The opening score came in the first 5 minutes, a clever through ball putting the striker through for a relatively simple finish. Although it was a difficult first half for the home side, the back four did well and held a solid line to catch Bandon offside on numerous occasions. Alex had a super game in goals and despite a 2-0 score line at half time there was a determination at half time to get back into the match.

In the second half, it was Carrigtwohill were applying all the pressure and despite some good chances by Darragh and Niall in particular, they were unable to score their opening goal.

As so often happens with such a score line, the next score is decisive, and it was Bandon who scored the third to settle the match. They went on to add to this but in truth it was the third goal which finished the match as a contest.
